Anyone who has gone to Chicago has probably tried the city's signature deep dish pizza. The unique slices are unlike anything from your average pie and Chicago has plenty of places to try them at. The Italian Beef Sandwich and Chicago style hot dogs round out the most popular traditions Chicago has brought to the culinary landscape. The city has most notably been ranked the best food city in America for 2017.

-Brought to Chicago in 1974, Giordano's has ever since served a famous double-crusted, cheese stuffed, deep dish pizza that they originally called Italian Easter Pie at their family functions. The pizzeria has become commonly recognized as the best in Chicago on several platforms and has expanded to 65 locations nationwide. The distinct quality of the deep-dish is their super stretchy cheese that'll impress any cheese lover. Their frozen pizza option was rated a 7.3 on Barstool.

-They advertise a build-your-own stuffed deep dish and a Chicago Style which comes with pepperoni, mushrooms, onions, and green peppers.

-The plain cheese deep dish pies range from $16.50 to $25.50. The medium pie that serves 3-4 people costs $20.75, slightly more than the average price of a more traditional New York-style pie.

Lou Malnati's

-Lou Malnati's is often compared to Giordano's as their main competitor. They opened 3 years earlier and have won plenty of pizza aficionados over with their secret family recipe crust. Their pizza sauce has a distinct fresh and tart flavor and the only thing someone can probably say Giordano's has an edge in is their insane cheese pulls. Other than that Lou's pizza has the edge in freshness, flavor, and a nice buttery crust. Their frozen pizza option was rated an 8.4 on Barstool.

-The top specialty pies at Lou Malnati's are the "Lou" with spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes, garlic crust and 3 cheeses, and the Malnati Chicago Classic with sausage, extra cheese and butter crust.

- Lou's deep dish cheese pie ranges from $9.45 to $23.95. Their medium pizza is cheaper than Giordano's at $19.65.

Uno pizzeria and grill

-Uno's is the creator of the Chicago deep dish pizza in 1943. Since then plenty of places have tried to replicate the idea, and some have arguably took it to next level. Ike Sewell expanded his business by opening up Pizzeria Duo across the street from his original spot. Uno or Duo, you often still have to wait quite a bit to place your order in the extremely popular and beloved restaurants. The tandem also offers a list of fun thin crust pizzas at Duo's and cooking classes at Uno's.

-Numero Uno and Spinoccoli are the most ordered deep dish options.

-Uno's deep dish cheese pie ranges from $8.99 to $24.99 with the medium priced at $19.99.
